Chapter 10: The Principle of Partnership

Chapter 10

The Principle of Partnership

On the human as God's envoy, and on God as the partner within the human.

The End of the Old Way

For thousands of years we were taught to see ourselves as separate:

God above, the human below; the Maker perfect, the made flawed; one commands, the other obeys.

This understanding, with all its force, has run its course.

It was born to teach awe, yet forgot to teach responsibility.

The time has come to move from the mindset of servant to the mindset of partner.

If we were created in the image of God, then we are not copies - we are reflections,

and every reflection is meant to complete the likeness of the whole.

God as the Acting Power, Man as the Working Hand

Within the living system of being, God is the power and the human is the form.

God breathes - the human speaks.

God initiates - the human brings into being.

Thus, the circle of partnership forms: God casts a spark, the human kindles light.

God ignites an idea, the human builds reality.

In every good deed, in every generous thought, a divine act occurs in the world.

This is not mysticism - it is the mathematics of light: two sides of one current flowing through one another.

Ongoing Creation

Creation did not end on the seventh day.

It continues in every moment, in every act of making, in every forgiveness, in every love.

When a person brings forth a good thing, he completes a moment of creation begun long ago.

When he builds a bridge, comforts a child, saves a life, he writes a new line in Genesis.

When he destroys, lies, or despairs, he stalls the flow for a time - and even this becomes a lesson,

for the partnership is real in all its shades.

The New Responsibility

In the age of partnership, there is no one left to blame.

There is no God who did this to me - there is I and the world which brought this forth.

The human is the universe's subcontractor.

He is not judged so much as measured by his share in the common harmony.

God is not a manager but an investor - and He invests in us with trust.

This is the core of human freedom: not the choice between good and evil, but the choice to be a partner or a spectator.

Partnership at the Heart of Existence

When a person chooses love over anger, giving over fear, he strengthens the divine side of creation.

When he yields to hatred, deceit, or numbness, he snuffs the spark.

Our choice is not only moral - it is cosmic.

Every thought contributes to the common field of awareness.

The more humanity thinks in goodness, the more God is revealed through it.

The world is not a playground of men - it is a laboratory for the discovery of the Divine.

God Learning Through the Human

If the human learns through his trials, then God learns through us - not for lack of knowledge, for knowledge is not experience.

Through the human, God tastes Himself in time, body, pain, and love.

The human is God's senses in the material world.

In every smile, in every tear, in each brave answer, God widens Himself a little more.

This is not heresy. It is the depth of faith: a living God is a God who learns - and a learning God needs courageous students.

Partnership as a Daily Act

No deep meditation or prophetic vision is required to live the partnership.

It is proven in small things: how you speak to one who serves you, how you drive, how you respond when someone shames you.

There partnership is weighed.

God does not ask for ceremony - He asks for participation.

When you choose to act with awareness, you continue the work of creation.

Partnership Among Humans

If God is partner to each person, then all people are partners to one another.

None of us works alone on the project of life - we are one team driven by a shared heart.

This is the secret of compassion: to see in every person, even the broken one, another branch of the same awareness.

When you help him, you help yourself.

When you harm him, you harm yourself.

Partnership as Proof

The very fact that we can grasp the principle of partnership is proof that it is true.

What has no reality has no one to experience it.

The felt sense of connection, of mutual flow, of there is something that hears me is itself the voice of God within.

Instead of seeking an outer proof, feel the inner echo: there providence happens, there precise faith is born.

Thou, I, and "We"

The human says, I.

God answers, We.

In that moment the understanding is born that there is no true divide.

Every good act, every loving thought, is prayer in deed - and every prayer in deed is a fresh creation.

This is the meaning of the principle of partnership: God does not act instead of us, and the human does not act without Him.

They act together, again and again, until the living proof is complete.
